SPIP – Proximal Interphalangeal Joint Implant

Ascension’s silicone SPIP implants are flexible, anatomically designed, single-use, one-piece, hinged prostheses intended to be implanted without bone cement as a replacement for proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joints.

They are made of silicone elastomer approved for clinical use. The proximal and distal stems of the prostheses are pre-bent to resemble the natural flexed position of the joint when the hand is relaxed. Both implants allow a 90º flexion with respect to the fully extended position.
